Baby Anna July 26, 2010

Sunday evening Jodi and I dropped the kids to Grandma Nielson's house and headed to Cedar City so that she could be induced. At about 10:00 pm they began the induction. I will spare you the details but it involved a foley bulb and some pitocin. By about 8:00 am, her body was well on its way to being in labor. They gradually upped the pitocin levels and by 2:00 the doctor broke her water and a little later she received her epidural. The baby girl was born at 5:28. She weighed 6 pound 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. It only took one big push, there was no tearing, and the little girl began eating right away. I call her little girl because she didn't get her name of Anna until the next morning just prior to the birth certificate lady coming in. Jodi's mother was there for the delivery and she is always so helpful. The hospital in Cedar City in my opinion is the best. They always take such good care of us. It is definitely worth the drive. Cameron, Jodi's sister, came up just after Anna was born to take some pictures and visit. It was very nice of her. We waited our 24 hours and headed home. Everything went so smoothly and as planned. Jodi's recovery has been exceptional. We are really blessed. Enjoy the pictures.

Cleaning Up!

On Saturday Whit took his last ride down the big dirt hills in his toy dump truck. Then he got to ride in a real tractor to take down the dirt hills.

Mom got to learn how to drive the real tractor! We started the official clean up where our new house is going to go. We pulled about 50 old posts and tore down old fences. We are not sure where we are going to put the horses this summer since the fences are down but we have to start somewhere.

Everyone chipped in. I never knew the kids were so destructive. They loved knocking things down with big hammers and crowbars!

The kids kept telling Mr. Hamburger that we were going to eat him for dinner in two weeks. Dad kept telling the kids to be nice to Mr. Hamburger and to stop scaring him!

Big Dirt Hills

The weather is finally warming up enough to get started on the garden. It has been a cold spring!!!

The big dirt hills that are in our garden space now need to be moved and the kids are sad.

Whit is taking his last couple of rides.

Spring?

Levi competed in the Pine Wood Derby race again this year. He had a fancy paint job on his car!

We visited Grandma & Grandpa Hills for Spring Break! It was wonderful to get away from all our wintery weather. It actually felt like spring there!

The kids had a blast in the sand. They kept asking if we could take some home to make a sandbox.

The Mathis family had a reunion in St. George while we were down south. The kids had fun riding in and driving Great Grandpa's train.

We brought home way to much candy from the Easter Hunt. We are now trying to monitor sugar intake at our house.

While we were in Logandale we drew our house plans to scale on the blacktop. It was fun and interesting. The process helped us make quite a few changes to the plans.
