Summer Time

Chris and Whit are keeping our yard nice and green.  They are doing a good job fixing sprinklers when they need adjusting.

Whit decided he didn't like eating dirt in the garden while we were removing weeds.

This is our first broccoli harvest of the summer. The kids are mighty proud. We put up 7 

quart freezer bags with this big 

bowl of Broccoli!

Whit loves his new ride!  We have already put quite a few miles on this beauty.

Family Garden

The kids want their own garden every year that they can have complete control of.  So.....we till a spot, make them a border and hand over the box of seeds.  They are in charge of planting, weeding and watering.  This year Casey planted her seeds in nice neat rows and Heston did everything random.  They are so fun to watch!

Today for silent reading the kids wanted to read together.  Whit didn't want to miss out on the fun.  He kept trying to climb on the couch.

Ants, Rainbows & Playing Catch!

This morning Levi, Casey & Heston ran in the house with funny looks on their faces.  They looked like they wanted to cry but didn't dare.  I asked them what was wrong.  Levi & Heston had been bit by red ants once and Casey had been bit six times.  I asked them what they were doing playing in the ant bed.  They responded that they were collecting ants for Levi's new ant farm.  While I got the ice out to put on their bites I explained to them that if they were going to capture ants they at least needed to wear shoes and long pants.  Heston responded by saying that they were not city kids anymore and that now that they lived in the country they were tough!    

The picture above is of Levi hammering air holes in the jar lid so his ants can breath.  I bet he has at least 200 ants in there!

Rainy Day

Heston taught Whit how to play catch.  They played for a good 15 minutes.  Whit was giggling and laughing the whole time.  It was so fun to watch. 

Summer Days!

The kids had a blast having a BBQ with friends.

Levi and Heston are winding up another season of Baseball & Tee ball.

Casey served at a Wedding Reception.  She needed a white dress so I tried my luck at sewing.  It turned out pretty good for my first try!

First Official Day of Summer!

Today is our first official day of summer since school let out. The kids wanted to have a picnic so we threw together some food. Levi rode our little motorcycle and the rest of us loaded up on the four wheeler.
